Phoenix College Finishes 4th at NJCAA D2 National Championships — The Bears opened the tourney with a with a 66-61 victory over Delaware Tech before falling 72-56 to eventual National Champion Johnson County CC (KS) in the semifinal round and 65-61 to Lincoln College (IL) in the third place contest.

Bears Advance to NJCAA D2 National Tourney — The Phoenix College Bears defeated North Arkansas College 85-65 to capture the District 1 Championship and advance to the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament. The tourney will be held from March 18-21 in Danville, IL.

AZ Western, Phoenix Capture Men's Region I Titles — Top seed Arizona Western defeated Cochise 74-50 to win the NJCAA Region I Division I Championship, while #2 seed Phoenix upset #1 seed Chandler-Gilbert 65-63 to capture the Region I Division II crown. Phoenix will host North Arkansas College on Saturday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. for the Distrct Championship. Arizona Western will face Region XVIII Champion Salt Lake CC for the District title on Tuesday, March 10th, at 7:30 p.m. at Scottsdale Community College. | Region I Playoffs |

Top Seeds Advance in Region I Playoffs — #3 seed Mesa defeated #4 Eastern Arizona 90-88 to advance to the semifinals of the Division I Region tourney and will face #2 seed Cochise on March 5th. In the Division II event, #2 seed Phoenix defeated #4 Scottsdale 82-74 and will face top-seed Chandler-Gilbert in the finals on Wednesday, March 4th. | Region I Playoffs |

Arizona Western Takes Top Seed in Division I Playoffs — #4 seed Eastern Arizona travels to #3 Mesa on March 3rd to open the Region I Division II Playoffs. #2 seed Cochise will face the winner of that matchup while #1 Arizona Western awaits the survivor of the first two rounds. | Region I Division I Playoffs |

Scottsdale Advances in Region I Division II Playoffs — #4 seed Scottsdale defeated #3 Glendale 92-90 to advance to the semifinals at #2 Phoenix on March 2nd. The winner will face top-seed Chandler-Gilbert for the title on March 4th. | Region I Division II Playoffs |

Hamilton, Mallory Win Final POW Honors — Mesa's Clint Hamilton and Scottsdale's Paul Mallory earned the final ACCAC Division and Division II Player of the Week honors, respectively, of the 2008-09 men's basketball season. | More |

James, Mitchell Repeat as ACCAC Players of the Week — Eastern's Mike James and Phoenix's Curtis James repeated the same honors as two weeks earlier by being selected the ACCAC's Division I and II Players of the Week, respectively, for the week ending February 22nd. | More |

Cochise's Reid Tabbed ACCAC's Weekly Best — Cochise's Victor Reid helped keep the Apaches atop the ACCAC standings by averaging 25.5 points in a pair of wins to earn the ACCAC Division I Player of the Week honor. | More |

EAC's James, PC's Mitchell Tabbed by ACCAC — Eastern Arizona's Mike James and Phoenix College's Curtis Mitchell led their respective teams to a pair of wins to earn the ACCAC Player of the Week awards. | More |

Eastern's Starke, Pima's Baker Earn ACCAC Awards — Dazmond Starke led Eastern Arizona to a pair of victories, scoring 86 points and grabbing 24 boards, to earn the ACCAC Division I Player of the Week award. Pima's Warren Baker came off of the bench to average 13.5 points and four boards and take home the Division II POW honor. | More |

ACCAC Honors Molesworth, Donahue — Mesa's Tyler Molesworth and Phoenix's Will Donahue have been honored as the ACCAC's Division I and Division II Men's Basketball Players of the Week, respectively. | More |

Almeida, Jones Earn ACCAC Awards — Arizona Western's Andre Almeida averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds to earn ACCAC Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors. The ACCAC Division II award went to Scottsdale's Alex Jones, who averaged 17.5 points and 12 rebounds in two games on the week. | More |

Mesa's Hamilton, PC's Miller Earn Honors — Mesa's Clint Hamilton averaged a double-double in two T-Bird victories to earn ACCAC Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors. Phoenix College's Alex Miller grabbed the ACCAC DII award with a 30-point effort in a won for the Bears. | More |

Jones Tabbed Again, Ruiz Takes D2 Honor — For the second time this season, Cochise's DeAngelo Jons is the ACCAC Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Pima's Oscar Ruiz helped the Aztecs to a pair of wins to take the Division II weekly award. | More |

Jurich Leads Scottsdale, Selected NJCAA Player of the Week — Freshman Steve Jurich led the Artichokes to a pair of wins and earned the NJCAA Division II National Player of the Week award for the week ending December 10, 2008. Jurich tallied nine points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a win over Arizona Western. He then posted 19 points and seven boards in a win at Yavapai. | More |

Cochise's Mayo, Scottsdale's Jurich Garner ACCAC Honors — Mike Mayo averaged 24 points in a pair of wins for Cochise to win the ACCAC Division I Player of the Week award. Scottsdale's Steve Jurich led the Artichokes to a pair of victories as well with 14 points and 10.5 points to earn the DII weekly award. | More |
