DI Women’s Basketball

Fortuna Ngnawo – Cochise – Ngnaow opened the season by scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a 96-29 win over Community Christian on Wednesday before posting another double-double in a loss to Mesa, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 boards. Ngnawo also averaged 5.5 steals per game in the two games.

D2 Women’s Basketball

Ashiian Hunter-Mesa– Hunter scored 19 points and had four assists and four steals in the Thunderbirds' lone game of the week, a win over Cochise. Hunter was 5-for-8 from the field and hit three, three-pointers in the win.

DI Men’s Basketball

Ray Glasgow – Yavapai – Glasgow scored 57 points in three games, scoring 25 points in a season-opening upset win over Southern Idaho while grabbing six rebounds in the win. Glasgow finished the trip to Twin Falls, Idaho with another 25-point performance in a win over Northwest.

DII Men’s Basketball

Jaylen Wesley – South Mountain – Wesley scored 32 points on 11-of-21 shooting while hitting four three-pointers on four attempts to help the Cougars to a 73-66 win over College of Southern Nevada. Wesley finished off a double-double by grabbing 17 rebounds in the win.
