DI Men's Basketball
Diego Sharp – Cochise – Sharp scored 43 points in the Apaches' three games last week and came within one point of tying a career-high. The sophomore from Albuquerque started the week with an 11-point performance in an 80-76 loss to Snow College before scoring 22 points, the second most points scored this season, in an 86-83 win over McLennan. Sharp ended the trip to Tucson with 10 points in a loss to Salt Lake.
DII Men's Basketball
Dillan Baker – Pima – Baker earned his second ACCAC DII Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award thanks to a week that included 57 points in three wins over NJCAA DI opponents. Baker opened the week by scoring 14 points in 17 minutes in a win over Bismarck State before tallying 26 points on 8-for-16 shooting in a win over No. 6 ranked Snow 83-79. The sophomore from Tucson hit three, three-pointers and scored 17 points in an 83-80 win over McLennan to finish the week.
D1 Women's Basketball
Fortuna Ngnawo – Cochise – Ngnawo was named the ACCAC DI Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season, scoring 48 points and grabbing 26 rebounds in the Apaches' three wins last week. Ngnawo scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting to lead the Apaches to a 55-25 win over South Plains and then recorded 12 points while grabbing eight rebounds in 14 minutes in a 66-38 win over Bismarck State. The sophomore finished the weekend with a double-double, scoring 22 points and hauling in 15 rebounds in the Apaches’ 82-67 win over Eastern Wyoming.
D2 Women's Basketball
Dominique Acosta – Pima – Acosta scored 49 points in three games to end 2023, helping the Aztecs to two wins in those three games. Acosta opened the end-of-the-year tournament with 15 points in an 89-40 win over Bismarck State. After scoring 12 points in 35 minutes in a loss to Eastern Wyoming, the sophomore from Nogales, Ariz., set a career-high scoring 22 points to lead the Aztecs past South Plains 64-61. Acosta recorded double-doubles in all three games and tied a season-high with 14 rebounds in the loss to Eastern Wyoming.
