DI WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Eastern Arizona moved up one spot to No. 12 in the latest NJCAA DI Women's Basketball poll, extending its winning streak to nine games with a pair of wins over Yavapai over the weekend. The Gila Monsters took down the Roughriders 72-61 on Friday before finishing off the sweep with an 82-45 win on Saturday.
Arizona Western was receiving votes once again after winning their lone game over Pima on Saturday. The Lady Matadors beat the Aztecs 62-43 at home to push their winning streak to 11 games.
DII WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Mesa jumped four spots to No. 6 in the newest NJCAA DII Women's Basketball poll. The Thunderbirds won a pair of games last week, starting the week with an 84-44 triumph over South Mountain, and ending the week with a nail-biting 52-51 win at home against Scottsdale.
Pima dropped to 16th in the latest polls after splitting a pair of games last week. The Aztecs picked up an 80-34 win at home on Wednesday, beating Chandler-Gilbert before falling on the road to Arizona Western 62-43.
Scottsdale is receiving votes for the first time this season and is coming off a week in which they won one and lost one. The Fighting Artichokes beat Glendale 86-52 on Wednesday before falling by one point, on the road, to Mesa, 52-51 on Saturday.
DII MEN'S BASKETBALL
Chandler-Gilbert jumped to No. 12 in the latest rankings. The Coyotes picked up two wins, starting the week off with an 80-71 win over fellow ranked Pima before finishing the week with an 86-59 win over Phoenix. The Coyotes have won eight in a row.
Pima fell to No. 19 in the newest NJCAA DII Men's Basketball poll after losing a pair of games this past week. The Aztecs dropped an 80-71 game to Chandler-Gilbert before heading on the road and falling 93-87 to Arizona Western, losing back-to-back games for the first time this season.
