ACCAC Soccer Players of the Week for week of 9/17-9/23

DI Women’s Soccer

 

Field Player: Emma Lindsey – Eastern Arizona – The sophomore from West Bountiful, Utah scored five goals including a pair of game-winning goals to help the Gila Monsters to two wins. Lindsey scored twice while assisting on a pair of goals in an 8-0 win over Glendale on Tuesday before completing a hattrick in a 9-0 win at South Mountain on Saturday. Lindsey has scored in all but three games for the Gila Monsters this season.

Goalkeeper: Tindra Biedermann – Arizona Western – The freshman from Santiago, Chile started the Lady Matadors’ second game of the week, making three saves in a shutout win over Phoenix on Saturday evening. Three saves were a season-high for Biedermann who helped the Lady Matadors to a 2-0 win over the Bears, their fourth consecutive shutout.

 

D2 Women’s Soccer

Field Player: Jessica Alvarez – Pima – The freshman from Tucson, Ariz., scored three goals in a pair of wins for the Aztecs last week. Alvarez scored twice and recorded an assist as a substitute in a 6-1 win over GateWay at home on Tuesday and added another goal with an assist in Saturday’s 7-1 win at Paradise Valley.

 

Goalkeeper: Adriana Pacheco – Pima – The sophomore from Tucson, Ariz., made four saves and did not allow a goal in two games played last week. Pacheco started the 6-1 win over GateWay and played 59 minutes, making four saves without allowing a goal before playing 45 scoreless minutes in a 7-1 win over Paradise Valley on Saturday.

 

DI Men’s Soccer

Goalkeeper: Esteban Gonzalez – Arizona Western – The freshman from Brussels, Belgium recorded nine saves and an assist in a 2-2 draw at Phoenix on Saturday evening. Gonzalez set a season-high with nine saves and assisted on the game-winning goal in the 90th minute with a 40-yard pass leading to the equalizer with 39 seconds left.
