Mohave Bighorns coming to the ACCAC in 2024

The Arizona Community College Athletic Conference will have a new member in the fall of 2023, welcoming Mohave Community College as its 18th member of the conference.

The Bighorns will sponsor both DI Men’s and Women’s Soccer starting in 2024, becoming the second school to join ACCAC soccer in the last two seasons, joining Eastern Arizona. The soccer teams at Mohave Community College will compete at the Bullhead City campus and play at Firebird Field at Bullhead City’s Rotary Park and also boasts a state-of-the-art indoor facility the Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse which was built in 2019 and is 126,500 square feet.

Camilo Valencia returns to the ACCAC as Director of Soccer Programs and Head Men’s Soccer Coach for the Bighorns. Valencia played in the ACCAC at Yavapai College, helping lead the Roughriders to an NJCAA National Championship in 2007 before moving on to star at UNLV. Prior to his time at Mohave, Valencia served on the coaching staff at his alma mater, assisting the Rebels since 2016.

Joining Valencia is Women’s Head Soccer Coach Cynthia Cervantes who most recently served as the head coach at Western Texas. In 2022, Cervantes was named 30 Under 30 Class by United Soccer Coaches. Not only will Cervantes lead the first-ever women’s team at Mohave, but she will also serve as an instructor while assisting with student life activities on campus.

Preparations have already begun for the Bighorns' inaugural season, with both coaches recruiting the players for the 2024 season.
