The top two seeds were both eliminated Wednesday, both in overtime, in NJCAA Region I soccer tournament action.
Arizona Western, seeded fourth, topped #1 Phoenix, 3-2 in overtime, and defending national champions Pima, seeded third, stopped #2 Yavapai, 1-0, also in extra time.
In the AZW-PC game, Leo Amaral completed a comeback from a 2-0 deficit for the Matadors by scoring the game-winner five minutes into overtime.
Pima extended its season when Itsuki Ishihara, who had three goals in the Aztecs first round win, connected in the 99th minute.
PCC will host Arizona Western Saturday at 6 p.m. for the region championship.
