Arizona Western and Pima remain unbeaten both in ACCAC men's soccer and overall.
AZW is 5-0 and 3-0 in conference play following shutout wins over Chandler-Gilbert and Phoenix.
In the CGCC match, a 1-0 victory, Leonardo Pitocchi scored late in the first half and the defense made it easy for keeper Gianni Hansel who didn't have to make any saves.
The Matadors then topped PC, 3-0, scoring all their goals in the first half. Michael Appiah, Michele Signorelli and Hugo Catherine found the net. Signorelli also had an assist. This time it was Alsuki Sato in goal, making one save in the shutout.
Pima topped GateWay and Paradise Valley during the week. In a 5-0 win over the Geckos, Seungeon Kim tallied twice and Manuel Quiroz added a goal and two assists.
In a 3-2 win at PVCC, the Aztecs built a 2-0 lead at halftime and made it stand up. Quiroz scored another goal and both Minho Cha and Lorenzo Nicolia both scored. The Pums got goals from Robert Delci and Kristian Bielicki.
Chandler-Gilbert and Phoenix are both 2-1 in league play.
Following the tight loss to Pima, the Coyotes defeated Glendale, 3-0. It took two goals in the final ten minutes to seal the win. Lewis Upton scored in the 80th minute and Carlos Carrion added the clincher seven minutes later. Elia Guzman tallied in the first half. Justin Zimmerman got the shutout, but didn't have to make any saves.
Just prior to its match with AZW, Phoenix edged Paradise Valley, 2-1, on a goal by Brian Machado in the 84th minute. The Bears' Edgar Landeros had scored just seven minutes earlier to tie it. Luis Angulo gave PVCC the early lead.
