Salt Lake built a 2-0 lead and then held off Yavapai in the West District men's soccer championship game to earn a spot in the NJCAA Division I championship with a 2-1 win.

  The Bruins scored two goals in the first 22 minutes and then withstood a Roughrider challenge after Iann Topete scored off an assist from Christopher Cornn in the 62^nd minute.

  The loss ends the YC season with a 9-3-1 record.
