Four teams made it through the first week of conference play unscathed: Cochise, Central Arizona, Phoenix and Chandler-Gilbert.
Cochise took down Phoenix and Scottsdale and remains unbeaten overall at 7-0. Raena Suggs popped in 26 points to pace the victory over Pima, 76-71. Christina Thames had 15 to lead five in double figures in an 83-32 win over Scottsdale.
CAC poured in the points in triumphs over Arizona Western, 108-93 and Mesa, 88-66. In the AZW contest three players did much of the damage combining for 81 points. Denali Hughes came off the bench and hit 15 of 17 field goals en route to 34 points. Ayanna Clark added 26 points and Makayla Pippin contributed 21 as the Vaqueras shot .646 from the floor. AZW was paced by Faith Silva wit 16 and Buse Utku with 15. In the MCC contest, Pippin and Clark accounted for much of the damage, Pippin with 31 and Clark with 26. Jenay Bojorquez added ten assists. Zyan Smith scored 13 for the T-Birds.
Chandler-Gilbert had victories over South Mountain, 89-69, and Glendale, 66-55, in its first two conference encounters. Grayce Claw had 23 points and Bryer Tronnier 21 in the SMCC game
Phoenix had an exciting, 71-69, win over Glendale with Cameryn Harris scoring 12. Zya Burk tossed in 18 for GCC. In a 92-83 win over South Mountain Janaya Berry led five in double figures with 16 points.
The unbeaten list will be pared to a maximum of three next week as Cochise visits Central Arizona Tuesday.
