Mesa, AZ – Second-seeded Pima jumped to q quick early lead and went on to a 76-59 victory over top-seeded Mesa in the Region I, Division II women's basketball championship game Saturday.
That means the Aztecs will move on to the NJCAA championship which begins March 17 in Port Huron, Mich.
Pima grabbed a 15-8 first quarter lead and was in command, 34-24, at halftime.
Alyssa Perez and Haile Gleason each scored 17 for PCC, while Sierra Mich'l added 13, Aaliyah had 12 and Fama Thiam contributed ten.
For MCC, Jayla Johnson tossed in 14 Jacey Salabiye netted 11.
