As the second half of the ACCAC women's basketball season was set to begin, once again COVID-19 announced that it might play a part.
For the second consecutive week only five of the ten scheduled games were able to be played, with one of those being a re-scheduled contest.
In that one, Central Arizona (13-2, 6-0) leading the league, topped Scottsdale (9-5, 3-3), 72-61, as Seairra Hughes recorded a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Shalyse Smith had a 12-10 double-double and Senya Rabouin scored 18. Scottsdale got 13 points each from Elysia Fleetwood, Halle Payne and Malia Ukestine. CAC, however, wasn't able to play its next two scheduled contests against South Mountain and Arizona Western.
Meanwhile, Eastern Arizona (18-2, 8-2) only had one contest and made the most of it in a 54-52 win over Pima (12-5, 5-3). Only one player scored in double figures for EAC, Catarina Ferreira, who had 12. Luisayde paced PCC with 11.
Arizona Western (15-1, 4-1) got an easy win over Chandler-Gilbert (6-10, 2-4), 102-49. Alliance Ndiba had a big double-double with 27 points and 19 rebounds, making 12 of 16 from the floor. Mya Johnson led CGCC with 17 points.
Mesa (10-6, 5-4), took down Scottsdale (9-5, 3-3), 61-37, in its only game. Stacey Begay was the only T-Bird in double figures, while Faith Diggs was the only one for SCC with ten. The Artichokes other contest, against Glendale, was postponed.
Cochise (6-8, 3-5) upset Pima in its only scheduled contest.
