Yavapai is headed for the NJCAA Division I volleyball national championship following a thrashing of Hill (Texas) College in the District B championship match Saturday in Prescott.
After a close first set with the Roughriders prevailing 25-22, they blew it open with 25-14 and 25-15 wins in the following two to claim the District title and berth at nationals.
Mailani Manual had 11 kills to pace YC and a .333 attack percentage. Elizabeth Toiaivao added seven kills on a .538 attack percentage and had10 total blocks. Heather Wanninger contributed 13 digs and Ali Rasmussen had 25 assists.
Yavapai will travel to West Plains, Mo., to compete in the NJCAA nationals April 15-17.
