Eastern Arizona has taken over first place in ACCAC volleyball by winning its first three conference matches.
The Gila Monsters won twice last week to run their winning streak to four in what is rapidly appearing to be a wide open race. EAC topped Pima, 3-1, and Yavapai, 3-2.
In the Pima match, Reagan Olson had 13 kills and Savannah White 12. Four different players added double figures in digs, led by Kaydn Osborne with 17. The Aztecs were paced Deanne Almaguer with 12 kills and Isabelle Jacome with 17 digs. Eastern the edged Yavapai 3-2. Olson collected 15 more kills and Kaia Baker added 10. The Gila Monsters had four players with over 20 digs led by Raynee Norton with 26. Kierslynn Wright and Sophia Parlanti each collected 12 kills along with 25 digs for YC.
Arizona Western won its first two league matches with 3-0 victories over Mesa and Chandler-Gilbert. In the MCC match, Tylor Joshua and Constanza Silva-Leiva each produced 10 kills and Jerica Vele added 17 digs. In the CGCC match Anny Montano Hurtado led with seven kills while Allesandra Arellano had nine digs.
Scottsdale got back on track and improved its league mark to 4-1 with two wins. SCC took down both South Mountain and Phoenix, 3-0. In the SMCC match, Brooklyn Casey collected 14 kills and Kylie Ostrovsky chipped in with 15 digs and Shuna Rath added 14. Against PC, Kamilah Anderson led the way with 13 kills while Casey had 25 digs.
Pima is 3-2 in ACCAC play after taking down Mesa, 3-0. Andrea Vigil German and Jessica Bright-Schade each pounded 13 kills while Avdalis Felix added 24 digs.
