Opposite ends of the state take early volleyball lead

  The two sides of Arizona are represented as the only two remaining unbeaten teams in conference play. Arizona Western and Eastern Arizona both have 3-0 league marks.

  AZW had only one scheduled match last week and took a 3-2 victory over Yavapai. The Matadors were led offensively by Anny Montano-Hurtado and Daniella Jimenez-Pax who had 16 and 15 kills respectively. Allesandra Arelano added 13 digs. YC was paced by Sammy Holman who had 13 kills while Kierslynn Wright added 11. Brooklyn Holland contributed 16 digs.

  EAC became 3-0 with two league wins. First, the Gila Monsters topped Pima, 3-1, with Reagan Olson producing 13 kills and Savannah White 12. Kadyn Osborne led four in double figures in digs with 17. PCC got 12 kills from Deanna Almaguer and 17 digs from Isabella Jacome.  Eastern then edged Yavapai, 3-2, as Olson collected 15 mor e kills and Kaia Baker had ten. Four players had more than 20 digs with Renee Norton posting 26. Wright and Sophia Parlanti each had 12 kills and Parlanti added 25 digs.

Scottsdale ran its ACCAC record to 4-1 with 3-0 wins over South Mountain and Phoenix. Against SMCC Brooklyn Casey had 14 kills Kylie Ostrovsky added 15 digs. In the PC match, Kamilah Anderson drove home 13  kills and Casey chipped in with 24 digs.

  Glendale and Pima are both 4-2 in ACCAC action. GCC had just one match last week, a 3-0 win over Pima. In that one, Neeley Eves collected 13 kills and Jayda Chee ten. PCC then played in a tournament at Chandler-Gilbert winning two of three matches.
